What Gives You Direction in Life?

Daily writing prompt
What gives you direction in life?

I used to think direction would arrive like a map.
Clear. Certain. Loud enough to remove all doubt.

But life has taught me something gentler than that.

Direction rarely comes as a grand announcement.
It comes as a quiet pull.
A feeling that something no longer fits.
A whisper that says, there is more for you than this.

Sometimes direction is discomfort.
The restlessness you feel when you’ve outgrown a version of yourself.
The ache that appears when you keep betraying your own needs.
The exhaustion that reminds you you were never meant to live disconnected from yourself.

Sometimes direction is peace.
The calm you feel around certain people.
The lightness that comes when you choose what is honest.
The steady breath that returns when you stop forcing what was never yours.

For me, direction in life comes from listening closely.
To what energizes me.
To what drains me.
To what keeps returning to my heart no matter how many times I ignore it.

It comes from purpose too.
From knowing my work is not only about coaching, but about helping people remember they are allowed to heal, evolve, and begin again.

Direction is not always a straight road.
Sometimes it is simply the next honest step.

And often, that is enough.
